This is an intuitive deck, meaning it will be best read if you don't rely solely on the cards and allow Your Spirits to speak first and then the cards to follow. 
In Zar, we experience Visions and Visions within dreams. Divination tools will always be second to hearing the Spirits directly, so a tool like this will help you to become a more efficient reader and stay sharply intuned with your gifts.
Many of the drawings, come from actual dreams of the Author and also showcase what can actually transpire during Zar ceremonies from experience. So this deck is deeply personal, authentic and unique in it's making. The deck also contains elements from everyday life, so it is very balanced with spiritual and general knowledge that anyone can enjoy. 
This deck was originally not intended to be released (with the exception being  other Zar Practitioners). To be more clear, the concepts cover more advanced topics spiritually based around the work I personally do as a practitioner.
This deck takes on the point of view of the Spirits and many drawings depict the reflection of the Spirit realm from the authors perspective. 
You do not have to know about the Zar to use the deck or be an initiate. The Zar Spirits can be looked at as representatives of energy that exists spiritually and physically ✨️.  For example in Atr traditions, there is always a gatekeeper or someone who is at the crossroads, in Zar that character is commonly Gado, a spirit from Nigeria. 
As long as you come with respect to the Ancestors and Spirits who helped to make this project, you dont necessary need to dig too deep into Zar to understand. But you can use it as a model for understanding the spirit realm. Because again many concepts, Spirits/ energies are universal.
